Corporate responsibility
El Palace Barcelona is determined to be a sustainable entity within its community. A better world can only be possible if everyone adds their own efforts to make this a better place for us and our next generations.
Barcelona Biosphere is an initiative of the Barcelona City Council, “Turisme de Barcelona” and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, with the mission of building a balanced tourism model for a more liveable city and a better sustainable economy.
The project offers advice and distinguishes tourism companies that are firmly committed to a responsible management of the environment, assuring constant job improvements, ensuring gender equality and that take special care of the culture.
Its goal is to promote a more sustainable business model that benefits local tourism and, therefore, the whole of society.
The Foundation fights against AIDS and infectious diseases as a non-profit organization, and is dedicated to assistance, research and support an all fields related to HIV / AIDS and other infectious diseases. The foundation has been created in 1992 by Dr. Bonaventura Clotet and is located in the Infectious Diseases Service of the brothers Trias i Pujol University Hospital (Badalona).
The foundation holds an annual fundraising gala, which is attended by numerous personalities. El Palace Barcelona offers a number of rooms to accommodate these personalities, making their attendance possible, which gives more importance to the event and encourages spending for fundraising.
We are concerned about malnutrition and for this reason we weekly prepare and donate food to the ALPAN foundation. Alpan was born in 1999 by Mr. José María Sogel, from the Rotary Club of Madrid, the first Rotary club in Spain.
The initiative consists in distributing food prepared by Hotels and Restaurants for free to solidarity canteens who feed the ones most in need. The solidarity canteens members of the ALPAN Project are linked to churches in the centre of Barcelona, and mainly host older people with little family support and lack of resources.
Cottolengo del Padre Alegre is a religious institution since 1932 thanks to the commitment of Father Jacinto Alegre Pujals. The institution's mission is to welcome people who suffer from an incurable disease, who due to their very little economic possibilities cannot be cared for in other health centres.
El Palace Barcelona supports this institution by donating food but also furniture and textiles when possible.
We launched a charity project, “El Palace Charity Stay: You Stay, You Care, You Rock,” involving the sale of five vouchers to stay in the El Palace Suite by Ronnie Wood. The proceeds of these sales will be donated entirely to the Barcelona food bank (Banc dels Aliments de Barcelona) and the YoMeCorono foundation. Through this charity project, we hope to help alleviate the health and economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
